Since releasing JMyLife, I've gotten a lot of feedback from users as far as what features they would like to see in the next release. I figured I'd go ahead and start a list of the features I'd like to see make it into 1.1, even though development has not officially started.

So without further ado, here is the feature wish list for JMyLife 1.1:

  • Text Editor for Stories
  • Optional Title for Stories
  • Backend CSS editor
  • Backend language editor for certain parts (specifically, the vote links)
  • AJAX-driven "Moderate" frontend view
  • Nested comments
  • More avatar support for solutions other than Community Builder
  • Official Joomla! 1.6 support
  • Joomla! 1.5 update check
  • Vote sorting within categories
  • More social networking links
  • Latest Stories module
  • Latest Comments module

Please, don't take this as the definitive checklist for new 1.1 features, as JMyLife is still in its infancy. Without your support, this list will remain what it is: wishful thinking. So please, support JMyLife development by heading over to the shop and grabbing your copy of JMyLife Pro today!

It would be cool if you add an option where admins could change the voting text to whatever they want from the backend.

"Backend language editor for certain parts (specifically, the vote links)"

That's definitely on the wish list. Currently, this can be achieved by editing the component's language file.

Hi Jeff, I would love to support the development but if i buy the pro today would I be eligible to upgrade to the new features i am supporting or am i better off waiting for future versions?

Liad, which features were you waiting for? My original idea was that 1.0 was separate from 1.1, so you would have to purchase again. However, I'm now offering the first 10 purchasers of JMyLife a coupon for a free copy of 1.1 when it comes out!

Full versions are not going to be limited to version number any longer. If you've purchased within 90 days of release, you can get whatever version is recent.

Bob - if you check out the product page on JML, you'll see I'm not bothering with preventing users from downloading version updates.

The only "rule" I'm enforcing is the 90 day limit.
